Kenneth R. Kensey, MD Kenneth R. Kensey, M.D., is founder and Director of Rheologics. He is a pioneer in the fields of hemodynamics and interventional cardiology. Prior to founding Rheologics, Inc. (formerly known as Visco Technologies, Inc.) in 1998, he co-founded Kensey-Nash Corporation (NASDAQ:KNSY). There, his track record of breakthrough innovations included the development of products such as the AngioSeal® (the leading femoral artery puncture closure device, marketed by St. Jude Medical). Dr. Kensey's devices are in use worldwide. During his tenure as CEO of Kensey-Nash, Dr. Kensey was instrumental in facilitating joint ventures with Baxter Health Care, Johnson & Johnson, American Home Products, Cordis, and Tyco Medical. Dr. Kensey is the inventor or co-inventor in more than 130 patent filings with more than 50 patents issued. He has moderated and lectured at a variety of radiologic, cardiologic, and surgical medical meetings worldwide and has been a featured guest speaker at major medical institutions throughout the United States, Europe and Asia. His publications include contributions to five medical books and nineteen journal articles such as the Journal of Invasive Cardiology and the Review of Scientific Instruments. He is the author of The Blood Thinner Cure: A Revolutionary Seven Step Lifestyle Plan for Stopping Heart Disease and Stroke and The Origin of Atherosclerosis.
Gary C. Cupit, PharmD Dr.
Cupit serves as Director of Rheologics, Inc. and is CEO and Director of Somnus Therapeutics, Inc. Previously, he was President of Enzo Therapeutics, Inc., a division of Enzo
Biochem, Inc. (NYSE:ENZ). He also served as President and CEO of
Sapphire Therapeutics, a private biopharmaceutical company. Prior to
Sapphire, Gary was Vice President, Global Business Development and
Licensing, at Novartis. He has more than 20 years of pharmaceutical and
healthcare industry experience in addition to 14 years in
university-based academics and consulting in clinical pharmacy. Before
Novartis, Gary held positions in Business Development at Knoll
Pharmaceutical and was Vice President, Cardiovascular Business Unit
(Angiomax®) with The Medicines Company of Cambridge, MA. Gary also held
prior positions at SmithKline Beecham Pharmaceuticals in a number of
capacities in sales (RMA), product management (Tagamet®, Hycamtin®) and
new product development (Kytril®, Androderm®, Argatroban®). Prior to
joining the pharmaceutical industry, Gary held faculty positions at New
York Hospital-Cornell Medical Center, the University of California, San
Francisco, the University of Pennsylvania and the University of
Tennessee, Memphis. Gary earned his Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy
from the Medical College of Virginia and Doctor of Pharmacy from the
Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science.
Daniel J. Cho Mr. Cho is President and Director of Rheologics, Inc. He oversaw the Company's reorganization in June 2007 through a going-private transaction. Since that time, Mr. Cho has coordinated the design and implementation of clinical studies -- two completed, three ongoing, and four in the planning stages. He is inventor of three of the Company's pending patents and co-inventor of 3 others. Previously he was President and CEO of Vortex Aircon, Inc., a privately-held company providing energy efficient technologies for the appliance industry, where he established joint projects with GE Appliances and Samsung Electronics. He is a graduate of Harvard College.
